Initiated some time ago, I finally have some results:
The rationale? Remember when you had your first 35mm camera, the lens that came with it was a normal lens. Usually 50mm, but sometimes 45mm. The Normal Lens for your camera (film or digital) is the focal length that most closely resembles the proportions that the eye sees. This will vary with format, e.g. for my medium format cameras (6X6 and 645) the Normal lens is 75-80mm.
In our rush to greatness, we often abandon the normal lens for zoom or wide angle. Read also this testimony to the normal lens. And if you are digital please chime in with your normal lens equivalents.
