The idea was Kathleen's, but I had the camera ready so I took the shot.

California Sunset

Its hard to do something different with a sunset, but I think the trick is to use the light, but not the form of the setting sun.

I like the zig-zag pattern made by the setting sun's glow on the clouds.

Moab Photo Symposium

Kathleen waiting for sunset near balanced rock, in Arches National Park, Utah. The last two days there the clouds came in thick along the horizon near sunset, but this day looked like they might break. They didn't, but the sky was nice to the west. 

Just got back from the 2014 Moab Photo Symposium. It was a great experience. Learned a lot. Still decompressing and absorbing everything we heard.
