I had four of my prints accepted for the Land through the Lens Photography Exhibit sponsored by the Boulder County Open Space Commission.

Here are some scans of the negatives.

Waiting for the Bison

For the Bison roundup, the crowds were restricted to two areas on either side of a valley. These locations were technically safe from the stampede, but in reality only a handful of riders stood between us and the herd.

Not the stargate

Visiting the hard rock mine in Lead South Dakota. The mine is now used as a location for high energy physics experiments and this is part of one. But it reminded me of the StarGate.

A smoky Tetons NP

Ventured to the Tetons last week. The fires in the Northwest of the US made the air there incredibly smoky so I experimented with the digital IR camera to see if I could mitigate the haze.

Gurley Tracks

Please note that I was not standing on active train tracks. This was a siding that ends just outside of the frame. I was able to shoot this from a public road.

Minimum Maintenance Road

This is a storage road designation I kept seeing in Nebraska. I would have thought the road was abandoned. Found along HWY 30, west of Sidney Nebraska.

Diamond ring eclipse

Image of totality. Shot with my Nikon D7100 digital camera. No solar filter used for the 2:40 seconds of the totality.

Onset of the eclipse

Shot with a Nikon 1 mirror-less camera, 100 mm zoom lens, at f8, and using a solar filter. I set up this camera to automatically make an image every minutes. Because of the magnification, the sun moved out of the frame twice during the first half of the eclipse. The images were over exposed by camera, so I corrected them a bit in lightroom.
