Anticipating Spring V

Flanders Poppies.
The symbol of WWI Remembrance in Europe.

Hopefully my patch will self seed.  But I'll grow more to plant this year.
I'd like to get a permanent self-seeding patch growing.

Anticipating Spring II

Papaver Orientalis; a perennial and originally a Turkish Poppy.

a nice patch was growing in the Yard when we bought the house.
They've become a favorite of mine, and I've added a pink variety
that should bloom this year.

Beautiful Day!

It was a Beautiful Day!

So Why did I spend most of it Indoors at a Climate Meeting?

I think they call it "professional enrichment"?

I did leave a bit early to enjoy my sunny ride home on the Bus!
(These clouds however, are from Mt Evans)

Frozen Dead Guy

Nederland's Frozen Dead Guy Days is an annual celebration commemorating Grandpa Bredo's frozen corpse, which has been awaiting reanimation for the last 20 years. Grandpa's popsickle is located in a Tuff Shed, packed in dry ice, on his Son's Nederland compound. Events include live music, a parade of hearses, ice carving demonstration, a coffin race, frozen Salmon tossing, and icy turkey bowling.

The parade of hearses included some unique entries.

A hearse for Colorado off roading ...

The Ghost Busters made an appearance.

And then this entry from the world of Mad Max named Alexi, with a fully functioning flame thrower.

Fall River Road, RMNP

The Old Fall River Road was the original road to the summit area of
Rocky Mountain National Park. It is a car-friendly dirt road,
but like everything else leadingto the summit area,
it is closed in winter (unless you want to snow shoe).
