Pitcher Plant
We have a new crop of pitcher plants growing by the windows at the front of the house. They seem to love it there. Trying to play with soft focus, depth of field and side lighting.

Wary Dog
It may be my imagination, but I think that look is telling me he's had
enough of my messing with him.

A Quail Dinner
A Turkey Buzzard feasting on quail. He was from the Raptor Education Foundation photo shoot. While he was able to fly, he had imprinted on humans and was unwilling to live a wild life. He kept begging from humans at parks.

Something different
Traditional Chinelos dancers from the Denver Botanical Gardens Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. Very different style from the Aztec dancers. They sort of remind me of the Mardi Gras Indians.

Last trip to the high country

Shapes and Reflections
A slightly cropped version of yesterday's image. I wanted to make the warm part of the image more significant, but it removes some of the strong leading lines.

Almost Stained Glass
Reflection off of the Denver Westin Hotel, taken from the atrium. The combined image of the lit room and the reflection of the patio canopy create an effect not unlike a stained glass window.

Day of the Dead
Spent the day at the Denver Botanical Garden's El Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration. Lots of art, food, dance, and crafts. This piece was one of my favorites.

House of the frozen dead
A shot of the receiving building at Riverside Cemetery, Denver Colorado. In the winter months when the ground was frozen, they would store the bodies here until the spring thaw.
