The Kingston Peak trail is a Jeep route between Alice and Rollinsville Colorado. It winds up Mammoth Gulch to the pass between James and Kingston Peak, before proceeding down to Alice. This was one of those perfect days for such an outing. This is the view looking back toward Mammoth gulch.
Here is a view of James Peak taken from the north east along the Kingston Peak trail. It was an amazingly beautiful day and an exciting drive. (Click on the image for a larger view).
Here is a classic glacier carved valley looking East back toward Estes Park. It was taken from the Fall River Road in the Rocky Mountain National Park.
Here's another flower from the front yard. It starts as a wound cylinder and slowly relaxes into a standard flower shape. I thought this stage of its development was the most interesting.
Here are a few of the many Estes Park Elk. They're like squirrels in that it is pretty easy to find some most days. They've been known to wander into the town of Este's Park and plan them selves in the center of town. They are wonderful to watch nonetheless.
