Owls

"All About Owls" Seminar at the Raptor Education Foundation in Brighton CO. We got to meet and photograph five birds. Typically when I shoot this sort of subject I rely on the "spray and pray" strategy. The downside of which is figuring out what images I like out of the 220 I took that evening.

The first cut is any image that doesn't have perfectly sharp eyes.

That still leaves a lot of shots that are almost identical.

Second cut is a bad exposure or pose.

Unfortunately even after that I've still got 80% of my original selection remaining.

I think this guy was my favorite of the bunch. He was very expressive.

Artists Day at Walker Ranch

Walker Ranch is a parcel of the Boulder Open Spaces parks system. Today they hosted an open house for Artists and photographers to photograph the site and the interior of the buildings. I hot three rolls of B&W negative film and made a few digital IR shots. I'll be showing the IR shots this week.

In addition to the trains and track layout, their set up included a number of historically accurate buildings from a local mining era trail route.

Went to an open house yesterday for a Club that specializes in model train collectors that build their layouts in their back yard.
