Lafayette Peach Festival through a Fisheye

Last Weekend featured the Lafayette Peach Festival.  Not sure that peaches were actually grown here, but any excuse for a party, right? I had a peach smoothie and it was great!

Peru Creek: Keeping your Powder Dry


Stone Shed near the mine entrance, probably used to store explosives.  The roof is totally gone, so it may have blown up.

Peru Creek Tram


Trams or suspended cable car systems were the most efficient way to bring ore down steep mountain slopes.  This is where the tram entered the Stamp Mill.

Peru Creek: Pennsylvania Mine Stamp Mill


The largest and most interesting ruin is the old Pennsylvania Mine Stamp Mill.  A cable car system brought the ore down the mountain to the mill.
