Wet Plate Collodion Process
At this weekend's Lafayette Peach Festival one of the venders set up a "mobile" lab making images by Wet Plate Collodion photography which is a civil War era process that produces photographic images on metal plates.
Notice the brace behind the woman's head. It was there to maximize sharpness due to blur from head motion and to keep the subject's head from moving outside of the camera's depth of field.
