Poppies
We have a number of varieties of poppies in our front yard. They do extremely well here in the harsh sun and the bees love them. They also peak a bit later than the irises to make the color of spring last a bit longer.
This is Papaver Orientalis, native to Turkey (not an opium poppy, those are native to Afghanistan and environs). Sometimes you will see a deep red color also, but I believe that deep orange is the original color. If my partner hasn't posted an orange one I will over the weekend.
Lovely. I don't think I have ever seen that color poppy before.
