Downspout

A series of a neighbor's rain gutter downspout. It froze solid after the last storm and was completely melted by mid afternoon.

Lunar Eclipse

Taken at 1:14:48 AM MT from Lafayette CO. The exposure was tricky because the zoom lens accentuated the movement of the moon across the sky, limiting me to a one second exposure. Otherwise it looked like this:

Railing

Steps in from of the Byron R. White U.S. Courthouse.

Sometimes less is more. Geometrically this is more interesting.

Columns

Here are two takes on the space behind the columns lining the Byron R. White U.S. Courthouse and former US Post Office.

I like the muted colors on the color image, but I also like the more restricted focus of the black and white detail.

Cropping

Here are two different takes on the same subject; an exhaust vent on the side of the Mountain States telephone/telegraph headquarters building.

The first shows the natural placement of the exhausts on the side of the building.

For the second I wanted focus on the exhaust port detail.

I'm not certain which I like best.

My drive to work

This is the view I take in every morning I drive into work in Boulder. I've always loved the large old trees along this route, but never stopped to make some images before ... until this weekend. I love the sky, but the image still needs some work.

Denver in the Dark with ghosts

I made two shoots of this location. I like each of them for different reasons. The first is cropped a bit tighter and the figures on the stairs are less ghost like, but the figures in the front of the frame are distracting.

The second image has a very different placement of the figures, and has slightly
different tonal ranges. Which do you like better?

Denver in the Dark #3

Looking away from downtown (North West) under the Highlands Bridge, the South Platte River below it.
