First Snow of the Season
We're getting our first snow of the fall. This is in fact the first real precipitation in months. I took this photo a few hours ago when there was less than half an inch on the deck. we're currently up to an inch and expect up to an other inch by morning. We are expecting about double that by Friday morning.

Help Select our 2013 Calendar Photos
Over the next week or so we will be posting potential calendar photos on our other blog. Please join us HERE and leave your comments. I'll be keeping track and sending a calendar to the most helpful viewer.......
The Theme is Red Rocks of the West. Some examples from a local candidate: Roxborough State Park.
As we have done in the past, each month in 2013 an image from the Calendar will be posted here.

We got a slow moving visitor in the yard this evening. I

Mitchell Lake in Fall
Mitchell Lake in Fall, Indian Peaks Wilderness.
Fall has hit the high country again. Most of the lakes had started to freeze over. I took this just after sunset so I missed any after glow in the sky.

Fried Green Tomatoes?
I think Not.........I managed to rescue these before the freeze, but if not fried then what?
I did find some interesting green tomato salsa recipes and I'll be trying one of those.

Celebrating this year's Bountiful Garden
Lest we forget this was a very successful gardening year despite the 100+ degree temperatures mid-summer. These were the last peppers harvested before the freeze.

No more squash for the season
Got our first hard frost of the season. Fall is definitely here. Much of the garden was just swinging into high gear producing fruit and vegetables, so this will halt that for the year. The growing season here on the front range is just too short.
